Presidency for Two Holy Mosques gets new identity

MAKKAH — Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, head of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and Prophet’s Mosque, has launched the new identity of the presidency, “Our Identity”, which carries messages of development, improvement and innovation.

According to Al-Sudais, the new identity symbolizes the Islamic aspect, which is represented by the Holy Kaaba, the Prophet’s Mihrab and the two minarets of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque; the national aspect, which is represented by the emblem of Saudi Arabia, two crossed swords and a palm tree and the Saudi Riwaq; and the global aspect, which is represented by the sunlight radiating from the Holy Kaaba that reflects the universality of Islam.

Al-Sudais added that the aesthetic aspect is given by the design, colors and the X-shaped Holy Qur’an holder at the bottom. — SPA
