As an expat slept in a car, a Saudi officer stood for four hours.

Users of many social media sites applauded and commended a Saudi patrol officer after reports surfaced that he had been standing guard for a motorist and his wife who had slept after parking their cars under a flyover.

The officer remained on duty until the guy and his wife awoke. Mohammad Yehia, an Egyptian working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and his wife were on their way home after doing Umrah when they decided to take a brief nap before continuing.

Mohammad Yehia added that it was after midnight and that in order to avoid breaking any traffic rules and regulations due to fatigue, they decided to park their car under one flyover and get a couple of hours of sleep before proceeding.

Yehia stated that when he finally awoke roughly 5 hours later, he found a traffic enforcement officer standing just a short distance from his car. He had no words at first and had no idea what to say to the officer.

The patrol officer approached them.
When the police noticed that he was awake, he approached him and asked if he was all right and if he had been harmed or sick. The traffic officer then informed the motorist that he had been standing there watching them for the past four hours.

The patrol officer also cautioned the driver that he should have never, ever taken the risk of sleeping in the car with his wife. He also encouraged the driver to check into and stay at a hotel before driving away.
