In order for trucks to reach Riyadh and Jeddah inside the prohibited window of time during the holy month of Ramadan, the Transport General Authority (TGA) announced a system of electronic appointment booking.

According to TGA, trucks that are authorized to transport products can schedule an appointment using the (Entering Cities) function at the Naql e-portal.

To expedite their passage during the ban period, the trucks will thereafter enter the city using designated lanes.

Along with coordinating and regulating the passage of the trucks, the service will help minimize the buildup of trucks at the main entrances to the cities.

Furthermore, it will improve the efficiency and quality of digital services in the logistics sector.

Transporters can benefit from the Naql e-portal’s truck entrance service to cities: bce.naql.sa — via which TGA provides numerous e-services that support and enable transporters to engage in transportation operations, as well as the convenience of implementing services.

This mechanism is in place following the announcement by the General Directorate of Traffic (Muroor) of the times when vehicles are not permitted to enter Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Al-Khobar, and Dhahran during Ramadan.

The Muroor stated that during Ramadan, vehicles are barred from entering Riyadh from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 a.m., and service trucks from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., as well as from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

On weekends, trucks are not permitted to enter Riyadh from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., while service trucks are not permitted from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., as well as from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Trucks are also not permitted to enter Makkah Road (Khurais) between Exit 13 and Al Safarat, east and west, and King Fahad Road between Exit 4 and Algeria Square (DIRAB), north and south.

Trucks are not permitted to enter the governorate from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., except on Thursday, when trucks are not permitted to enter until 3:00 a.m.

On weekends, trucks are not permitted to enter Jeddah from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., with the exception of Saturday, when trucks are not permitted to enter until 1:00 a.m. Water and garbage vehicles are exempt from the prohibition.
