Strong action will be taken against beggars at the Grand Mosque

Beggars will be dealt with harshly at the Grand Mosque and its courtyards in Makkah, according to Director of Public Security Lt. Gen. Muhammad Al-Bassami, and punitive measures will be forcefully enforced against them.

Al-Bassami was speaking to a press conference on Tuesday at the Unified Operations Center 911 in Makkah alongside the commanders of the Umrah security forces.

The Interior Ministry’s plans and preparations for the peak annual Umrah season, which culminates in the holy month of Ramadan, were discussed by Al-Bassami and other top security officials. Maj. Gen. Saleh Al-Murabba, deputy director general of passports, and Maj. Gen. Hamoud Al-Faraj, director general of civil defense, were also present at the press conference.

Al-Bassami claimed that the Umrah security plan for the year 1444 addressed crucial security issues like crowd control, traffic management, and the provision of humanitarian aid, in addition to assisting and empowering parties taking part in the plan’s implementation and providing the necessary human resources.

The General Directorate of Civil Defense, according to Maj. Gen. Al-Faraj, has finished making preparations at all locations where Umrah pilgrims and visitors congregate in large numbers. In conjunction with the appropriate authorities, who will enforce the rules and take appropriate legal action to control infractions, he continued, “this is done by assuring the readiness of forces and the availability of resources for the prevention of and protection against fires.
