A woman in Jeddah married to two husbands

In Jeddah, a father remarried his daughter to another person without first obtaining a divorce from her first marriage. Furthermore, they kept the second marriage a secret from the first husband.

The woman lived with her husband for two months before he left Jeddah for work, and the wife returned to her family.

During her husband’s absence, the woman’s father married her to another man, claiming that this was her daughter’s first marriage, but later learning from his wife that he was the second man in her life, and she was already married to a relative.

During the investigation, the father stated that his daughter’s husband divorced her but did not file divorce papers because of a financial crisis.

He also claimed that the couple was having financial problems, but the man denied this. The prosecution determined that the time period between both marriages was shorter than Iddah’s.
