According to a tweet posted by Ahmed Al-Khatib, the Minister of Tourism, on his official Twitter handle, all Gulf residents are eligible for the Saudi Tourist Visa, which also allows them to perform Umrah.

According to an announcement made by Al-Khatib, Today, Saudi Arabia has removed the requirement for specific professions to issue tourist visas to resident expatriates of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries (UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman) (Thursday).

We extend a warm welcome to all citizens and residents of the Gulf nations, he said, going on to explain that the procedures are simple and straightforward. Obtaining a visa to travel to Saudi Arabia is now easier and does not require a specific job profession.

Residents and expatriates from GCC countries aged 18 and up may apply for an electronic tourist visa through the “Visit Saudi” platform as long as their current Gulf residence permit is valid for at least 3 months and their passport is valid for at least 6 months at the time of visa issuance.

Additionally, all first-degree relatives of GCC residents and domestic workers who wish to travel with their sponsors are eligible to apply for a Saudi tourist visa.

The visa is available in single entry (30 days with 3 months validity) and multiple entry (1 year visa with 90 days stay per trip), and it also allows you to visit Saudi Tourism, visit family and friends, participate in recreational activities, and perform Umrah for Muslims. The visa fee is 300 Saudi Riyals, excluding health insurance costs. The Tourist visa, on the other hand, does not allow its holder to perform Hajj or Umrah during Hajj season.

Saudi Tourist Visa Application Procedure for GCC Residents:

  1. Go to visitsaudi.com/visa and fill out all of the required information.
  2. Upload the necessary documents.
  3. Cover the Visa fees. (Visa fees paid are non-refundable.)
  4. Receive your e-Visa via email.
