In Jeddah, 100 kg of gold were found when tearing down a structure.

One of the major crime centres has been in Jeddah’s old district. The heaven for stolen money used to be in this location. Chief General Saleh Al Jabri of the local police in Makkah has confirmed this.

He further stated that Jeddah’s historic district has the highest crime rates. These gangs engage in illegal activities like stealing, looting, drug trafficking, and—worst of all—human trafficking.

In the process of seizing and demolishing the old homes, 100 kg of gold and 60 million riyals in cash were recovered. The recovered gold is valued at 50 million Saudi riyals.

Fortunately, the money was seized just in time since the group intended to use it to send money illegally abroad.

Additionally, individuals from the same area were apprehended at King Abdulaziz Airport attempting to carry SR 10 million in luggage. Smuggling has been rendered ineffective.

10,000 illegal immigrants have also been detained in the same area in addition.

According to the authorities, these actions have made it possible to reduce crime by 12%.
