A traffic accident in a coastal city claimed the lives of a Saudi imam, his wife, and their five children, according to Saudi newspapers.

Okaz claimed that the seven were killed after a speeding truck struck a car transporting them on a roadway close to the seaside city of Al Qunfudah.

The newspaper stated that a truck struck a car carrying a local mosque imam and his family as they were traveling back from Makkah after conducting Umrah, or a minor pilgrimage, there.

The victims’ neighborhood was heartbroken by the news of the fatal accident.
