Security checks at the gateways of Makkah will soon be implemented via the Sawaher portal.

Sawaher portal will be launched soon to control security at Makkah entrances.

Lt. Gen. Muhammad Al-Bassami, Director of Public Security, announced on Sunday that a new online platform titled ‘Sawaher’ would be launched soon to ensure security control at Makkah’s entrances in order to identify people and vehicles.

This was stated by Al-Bassami while speaking at the 22nd Scientific Forum for Hajj and Umrah Research at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah.

He stated that the security patrols would be outfitted with systems that detect wanted individuals as they pass through roads.

He continued, “Everything shared on social media platforms will be examined and connected with the security command platforms.”

The two-day forum is organized by the Umm Al-Qura University’s Institute of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for Hajj and Umrah Research.

The forum, themed “Towards a distinguished experience to serve the Most Gracious’s guests,” discusses various scientific research topics related to Hajj and Umrah.
