The flight crew from a Riyadh-to-Manila flight was detained for smuggling 27 kg of onions, 10 kg of lemons, and 1 kg of each blueberries and strawberry.

The 10 members of the cabin crew, all of whom are Filipino, will face charges of smuggling from the Philippine authorities.

Their suitcases were arrested at Manila International Airport’s Terminal 1 with these things inside, according to Philippine customs officials.

They failed to declare the things on the customs baggage declaration form, and they lacked the import license required to carry such goods. The products were seized because they failed to submit the documentation, according to the customs officers.

According to the authorities, one flight attendant was overheard stating, “Let’s destroy them so they won’t be able to use them.”

The customs report added that “the other crew members began to stomp on the products, sprayed disinfectant, and poked the commodities with their chopsticks and pens also in public view.”
