Ramadan is expected to start in Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries on March 23, 2023.

According to astronomer Ade Al-Marzouq, the holy month of Ramadan will most likely start on March 23, a Thursday, and will be the first day of Ramadan throughout the Gulf and Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Al-Marzouq also foresaw that Ramadan 2023 would stretch for 29 days and that, insha’Allah, Eid Al-Fitr will fall on Friday, April 21, 2023.

Muslims fast from food and liquids during the daytime during the holy month of Ramadan as a kind of spiritual discipline. Each day’s fasting period starts at sunrise and concludes at sundown.

Throughout this holy month, people are urged to pray, read the Quran, give more to charity, and engage in self-reflection.

Each of the three segments that make up the month of Ramadan has its own unique spiritual emphasis and special significance.

  • The initial ten days – Rahmah (Mercy of Allah)
  • The middle 10 days are known as Maghfirah (Allah’s Forgiveness) and
  • The last ten days, also known as al-Ayyaam al-Aakhirah – Nijat (Safety from the Hellfire).
