Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he will play in Saudi Arabia. Riyadh’s Al-Nassr has signed his biggest contract this season with Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese footballer will join the Saudi Arabian club on a two-year contract.

“I’m excited to play football in a new country and work with my teammates to help the team win new trophies,” Ronaldo said after signing with Al-Nassr, according to the club’s official Twitter account.

Saudi Sports Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal welcomed the agreement. “One of the greatest of all time is confirmed to begin his new journey in Saudi Arabia,” he said. He wished Ronaldo and his family a good time in Saudi Arabia.

“@Cristiano welcome to your new home, welcome to @SPL, one of the greatest of all time is confirmed to begin his new journey in Saudi Arabia. I wish you and your family a magical time in the Kingdom “Prince Abdulaziz tweeted first thing Saturday morning.

On Twitter, the Saudi club stated: “History is being written. This is a signing that will inspire not only our club to greater success, but also our league, our nation, and future generations of boys and girls to be the best versions of themselves.”

Al-Nassr referred to Ronaldo as “the greatest athlete in the world” when announcing the agreement. The signing took place in Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo, as he did with Manchester United, will wear the No. 7 shirt.

Since his Manchester United contract expired last month, the Portuguese star, 37, has been a free agent.

According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, the club’s president and sporting director were in Madrid on Friday, preparing to take Cristiano Ronaldo to Saudi Arabia and make the deal official on December 31.

Conversations between Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr began during the World Cup in November.

The player and club representatives will travel to Riyadh to finalize the details that will allow him to join his new team on January 1.
