According to the National Center of Meteorology, most governorates in the Makkah region will experience moderate to heavy rain from Wednesday to Friday (NCM).
In a statement, NCM spokesman Hussein Al-Qahtani said that the current rainy situation in Jeddah would not be at the rates of the torrential rain that hit Jeddah for several hours on Nov. 24.
The NCM announced a “advanced alert” of moderate to heavy rains in the Jeddah governorate beginning at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday and ending at 2:00 p.m. Thursday.
Surface winds, high waves, hail, torrential rains, and low visibility will accompany the rain, according to Al-Qahtani.
“The center monitors weather developments in all of Saudi Arabia and coordinates with the relevant authorities in dealing with the situation on the ground,” he added.
From Wednesday to Friday, most of the Makkah region will experience moderate to heavy rain, including Makkah city, Jeddah, Rabigh, Taif, Jumum, Al-Kamel, Khulais, Bahra, Allaith, Qunfudhah, Al-Ardiyat, Adham, and Maisan, according to an NCM statement.
Meanwhile, the Civil Defense General Directorate urged everyone to take precautions, follow the directorate’s instructions, and avoid valleys, torrents, dams, water pools, lighting poles, electric generators, and operating rooms on the streets.
