The labor authorities in Saudi Arabia have announced digital authentication of employment contracts for both domestic and foreign workers there.
The e-platform Qiwa serves as the authorized provider for this authentication, according to a statement made on Friday by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
The move is a result of a Saudi Council of Ministers decision, according to the Saudi news agency SPA, that the Ministry of Human Resources is in charge of managing contractual relationships between establishments and their employees beginning with the registration of the contract and continuing through the end of the relationship.

The ministry wants to improve standards of salary payment compliance, increase the attractiveness of the Saudi labor market, and protect both parties to the contractual relationship by making e-authentication of employment contracts mandatory.

There is a sizable number of migrant laborers in Saudi Arabia.
