RYD- In response to an increase in seasonal influenza infections across the nation, the Ministry of Health (MoH) has once again issued a warning to exercise extreme caution.

The current season has seen a surge in influenza cases, according to Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali, the ministry’s spokesman.

He said that the flu is spreading more quickly than the instances that have been documented in the previous two years, that many individuals have been admitted to intensive care units, and that the flu may cause fatalities.

According to Dr. Abdel Ali, the seasonal influenza vaccine protects 80% of people with severe symptoms.

In addition to wearing a mask, the influenza vaccine is the most crucial defense against the influenza virus’ activity.

He pleaded with the populace to stay out of the direct rain and freezing waves.

It is interesting that the Ministry of Health recently began a public education campaign with the tagline “The moment you wish for” to encourage seasonal flu vaccination.

Along with health sector employees, the general public, and the elderly, chronically ill, immunocompromised, and pregnant individuals, the campaign targets the most vulnerable groups in society.

It emphasized that vaccinations are risk-free, have no negative effects, and have long been used successfully in every nation on earth.

According to the ministry, seasonal influenza can lead to a number of problems, the most severe of which are pneumonia, bronchitis, ear infections, blood poisoning, and death.

Shivering, sweating, a temperature of more than 38 degrees Celsius, muscle discomfort, headache, sore throat, persistent cough, dehydration, and a runny nose are among the symptoms of seasonal influenza, according to the article.

According to the ministry, preventing influenza involves getting the vaccine, avoiding crowded areas, washing your hands correctly, avoiding direct eye and mouth contact, using tissues when you cough or sneeze, and maintaining a clean environment.

The ministry wants to lower the rate of infection and the number of hospitalized patients while increasing the number of people who are immunized through this program.

It urged locals and foreigners to be vaccinated against the seasonal flu.

The seasonal influenza vaccine service must be scheduled for this using the ministry’s Sehhaty application, according to the ministry, which also noted that immunization has a rate of 70 to 90 percent effectiveness in preventing illness with this disease.

It is noteworthy that the ministry has continued its efforts to promote health awareness, advance health education, and encourage the adoption of healthy behaviors with the launch of several awareness-raising initiatives.
