Dr. Khaled Al-Nimr, a consultant in cardiology and arterial catheterization, claims that having only one meal a day is one of the reasons of high blood pressure and advises eating many small meals throughout the day.

Through his Twitter account, the cardiac specialist emphasized that, independent of other factors influencing that relationship, the more often people eat small meals throughout the day, the lower their average blood pressure would be.

According to Dr. Al-Nimr, if a hypertensive patient forgets to take a medication and recalls it the same day, he must take it; however, if he remembers it the following day, he must just take the medication for the current day and not double the prescribed dosage.

He advised doing the following to prevent against stress.

  • Lower the salt.
  • Maintain a healthy weight.
  • Get adequate rest.
  • Consume fruit.
  • Exercise.
  • Avoid everything and everything that puts you under stress or strain.
