Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi, minister of human resources and social development, declared on Sunday that the ministry will make decisions regarding the Saudization of 11 new industries before the end of 2022.
Project management, purchasing, and the food and drug industries are among these fields, he said. The minister said this while speaking to businesspeople and businesswomen at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Riyadh headquarters.
According to Al-Rajhi, the choice to localize industries, professions, and activities has helped to raise the number of Saudis employed in the private sector to more than 2.13 million male and female nationals. The growth in the rate of women’s economic involvement to 35.6 percent and the reduction of Saudi Arabia’s unemployment rate to 9.7 percent are both results of this.
The minister commended the private sector’s efforts to hire Saudis and the outstanding collaboration with businessmen and women to realize the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. Al-Rajhi pointed out that during this year, 98 percent of private sector businesses complied with Labor Law standards, and that more than 74 percent of labor disputes are settled peacefully through the Department for the Amicable Settlement of Labor Disputes, preventing the need for legal action.
“The Wage Protection Program compliance rate reached approximately 80%, and the Tawtheeq program documented more than 3.8 million work contracts, and we digitize contracts electronically, ensuring that the worker and the employer have a copy of a documented and regular contract,” he stated.
Al-Rajhi emphasized that as part of a comprehensive digital transformation initiative, the ministry’s services have been automated. As a result of the project, 127 services are now offered on the Qiwa platform, benefiting more than 3 million individuals and 1 million businesses.
Beneficiaries have received more than 700,000 services each month without having to go in person to the labor offices. According to him, the ministry has increased the number of fully automated services on its Musaned platform from one to over 35, making services available to over two million beneficiaries.
