The debate over whether citizens of the Gulf countries (UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar) could enter Saudi Arabia on a tourist visa was settled by Thamer Al-Sudairy, the ministry’s spokeswoman for tourism.

He claimed in his interview with Al-Ekhbariya that only people who have a permanent address in a member state of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) or who are citizens of the Schengen Area are permitted to enter Saudi Arabia on a tourist visa.

The Ministry of Tourism earlier this year announced changes to the legislation governing tourist visit visas, including the expansion of eligible categories and the offer of more options for people intending to travel to Saudi Arabia.

The ministry added that Saudi Arabia welcomes citizens of GCC nations as well as those with Schengen visas, as well as those from the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union, as well as their citizens, in accordance with the amended tourist visa regulation issued by the minister of tourism, Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khatib.

How to apply for a tourist visa to Saudi Arabia for GCC citizens:

  1. Fill out the necessary information on the e-Visa website at https://visitsaudi.com/visa.
  2. Upload the necessary files.
  3. Make the e-Visa payment.
  4. Obtain an e-Visa via email.

Conditions for GCC citizens applying for a Saudi e-visa:

  • One of the qualifying vocations listed on the site should be the resident’s line of work.
  • Document proving residency must be current for at least three months.
  • Passport must be at least six months old. Recommend: All Saudi nationals with valid visas may conduct Umrah.
  • Children under the age of 18 must have parental permission.

You can go to Saudi Arabia for tourism and Umrah using a Saudi e-Visa.

  • Both Single entrance and Multiple entry e-Visas are available.
  • The cost of a Saudi e-Visa is 300 SR, as well as health insurance. Visit visa holders may undertake Umrah after securing a permit, as well.
