The King Fahd Causeway sets the procedure for expatriate travel from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain.

Procedures for resident expatriates traveling from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Kingdom of Bahrain were made public by the General Corporation of the King Fahd Causeway. A number of expat workers in Saudi Arabia were surprised by profession change SMS messages.

Through its official Twitter account, the King Fahd Causeway Foundation stated that expats must have a valid exit/re-entry visa, passport validity, and iqama before leaving Saudi Arabia.

The Authority further underlined that individuals in higher professions must obtain a visa through the port of entry, while those in lower professions must obtain a visa online at http://www.evisa.gov.bh.

All 146 Jawazat and Customs cabins on the Saudi and Bahraini sides of the King Fahd Causeway are in operation and are at full capacity, including for the services it offers around-the-clock. One of the tracks is designated for use by people with impairments.
