Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development is set to begin enforcing the decision to prohibit all private sector enterprises from working in direct sunlight on Wednesday, June 15th, 2022.
From June 15th to September 15th, 2022, all companies in the Kingdom will be prohibited from working in direct sunlight from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Passengers sitting in places not designated for them is a Traffic violation – Saudi Moroor
The Ministry stated that this decision was made in the interest of the safety and health of private-sector workers, as well as the Ministry’s commitment to provide a healthy and safe working environment for workers and to avoid exposing them to health hazards.
To protect workers’ health and safety and avoid infractions, the Ministry of Human Resources urged all employers to organize working hours according to the decision. List of 51 names banned in Saudi Arabia
There will be exceptions to the restriction on outdoor labor in direct sunlight in some locations of Saudi Arabia, where temperatures are low. The Human Resources Ministry’s branch will coordinate with such locations in determining whether or not to impose a work ban under the sun. Workers for oil and gas businesses, as well as those performing emergency maintenance, are exempt from this ruling.
