No need of Expat worker’s consent for changing these 8 iqama professions through Qiwa

The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development’s Qiwa platform has removed the requirement of getting expat workers’ agreement before modifying eight professions on iqama.

The eight iqama professions that can be changed without the approval of the expat have just been added to the Qiwa platform.

1. Doctor

2. Expert

3. Specialist

4. Engineer

5. Specialized expert

6. Monitoring Technician

7. Worker and

8. Ordinary worker.

Changing one’s occupation on iqama usually necessitates the worker’s approval after a payment of 2,000 Saudi Riyals. There is now an exception for these eight professions, and the modification is regarded as a professions correction. Only one free correction will be allowed for these professions. For any future necessity, the Qiwa platform stressed that an accurate description of the professions to be recruited is required. It will be illegal to hire anyone in the aforementioned occupations. The change of profession is limited to the Qiwa platform for company employees exclusively, as the platform does not address individuals.

The company must specify the doctor’s, specialist’s, engineer’s, specialized expert’s, and monitoring technician’s specializations. For each of the worker and normal worker occupations, there will be 67 alternative professions.

Workers at gas stations, food and beverage counters, personal care, concrete, vehicle paint, paint industries, cleaning roofs of buildings, cranes, leather crafts, printing and binding works, electrical appliance maintenance, installation of communications and information technology lines, preserving fruits and vegetables, embroidery, pest control, mining, and furniture assembly are among them. Workers in plastic and metal product assembly, paperboard assembly, hotel management, cleaning offices and facilities, unique professions, car parking, laundry, ironing, washing carpets and rugs, cleaning water tanks, sewage, cleaning vehicles, mobile vehicle washing, street cleaning, farm animals, poultry and bird farms, egg hatching, stables, agricultural and animal production farms are also included.

Workers in green spaces, nurseries, fish farms, fishing, mines, forests, forest firefighting, road maintenance, digging, cemeteries, buildings, concrete mix, constructions, quarry, demolition, manufacturing, labeling, packaging, product sorting, workshop, wheelbarrow work, bicycle transport, animal cart driving, loading and unloading, packaging shelves, warehouse, kitchen work, and cleaning kitchen utensils are also included on the list. Employee labor contracts have been accepted and documented only on the Qiwa platform since May 12th of this year. According to Saudi Gazette, the Ministry of Human Resources has transferred all of the workers’ documented contracts to the Qiwa platform in collaboration with the GOSI.
