Residents who do not have an entry permit will be stopped at security checkpoints going to the Holy Capital Makkah beginning Thursday (25/10/1443), according to the Saudi Ministry of Public Security.

Brigadier General Sami bin Mohammad Al-Shuwairekh, the Public Security spokesperson, noted that this is in accordance with the Hajj pilgrimage guidelines, which require those intending to visit the Holy Capital Makkah to obtain a permit from relevant authorities. Saudi Arabia will eventually consider reducing Value Added Tax – Finance Minister

Except for individuals who hold one of the following documents, Al-Shuwairekh said that the guidelines governing the Hajj this year 1443 will be implemented to return vehicles and inhabitants to where they came from.
