Following is a List of 7 things that can break your fast

According to Islam, there are seven things that can cause your fast to be void or broken, therefore stay away from them. It is critical to be aware of them because:

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: Whoever breaks the fast during Ramadan without an allowance or illness, then if he fasted for all time, his fasting would not make up for it. – Jami` at-Tirmidhi 723

Eating and drinking

Intentionally eating, drinking, or smoking is at the top of the list of things that break your fast. Unintentional eating, on the other hand, does not break the fast. In the Taraweeh prayer, how many rakat are there? 8 or 20?

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: If somebody eats something forgetfully while he is fasting, then he should complete his fast, for Allah has made him eat and drink. – Sahih al-Bukhari 6669

Vomiting intentionally

Vomiting intentionally is one of those things which break your fast. Unintentional vomiting, on the other hand, does not break your fast.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: Whoever unintentionally vomits, he does not have to make up for the fast, but whoever makes himself vomit, has to make up for the fast. – Sunan Ibn Majah 1676

Cupping and Hijamah

Whether cupping or Hijama are among the things that break the fast is a point of contention. Cupping, according to the majority, can invalidate the fast. Consultant:In this case, a diabetic and a heart patient must break the fast immediately, even if one minute remains before the call to prayer

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: The cupper and the one for whom cupping is done both break their fast. – Sunan Ibn Majah 1679

Masturbation

Sexual intercourse

Having sexual intercourse with your spouse, whether or not it ends in ejaculation, also breaks the fast.

However, you are allowed to have physical relations with your wife while you are not fasting in the month of Ramadan (night time).

Menses or post-natal bleeding

Menses or post-natal bleeding break your fast even if experienced only a few seconds before the Maghrib prayer.

Injections/Drips

Taking any form of injections/drips for whatever reason, even sickness, breaks the fast. If you take antibiotics while fasting and then inject penicillin or insulin, your fast is interrupted.
