RIYADH, Saudi Arabia —
The Supreme Court has ordered all Muslims in Saudi Arabia to observe the crescent of Ramadan on Friday night, 29 Shaban 1443 AH, which corresponds to April 1, 2022.
According to the Supreme Court, anyone who sees the Ramadan crescent with the naked eye or with binoculars must report it to the nearest court and file his statement.
It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia’s ministries and agencies have gone to great lengths to ensure the success of the operational plans for the holy month of Ramadan.
The school day would begin at a flexible time between 9 and 10 a.m. The class hours will be 35 minutes long.
In the labor market, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) clarified that during Ramadan 2022-1443, working hours in private sector enterprises will be 6 hours per day.
Additionally, after a two-year break, the ritual itikaf will be resumed at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
The Presidency has also developed an online portal with instructions and registration options for those interested in performing itikaf.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance had previously established a set of norms and guidelines for non-governmental groups and organizations under the ministry’s technical supervision in regards to the implementation of iftar meal initiatives during Ramadan.
