Following an increase in Omicron infection, a number of countries have adjusted their travel restrictions. Several nations have eliminated the pre-departure PCR test for inbound tourists, which is a significant development. Relaxing travel restrictions for fully immunized people is considered as a positive step toward increasing international tourism.
According to the Civil Aviation Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, travellers arriving in Bahrain will no longer be required to submit to a PCR test before to boarding beginning February 4, 2022. Upon arrival at Bahrain International Airport, they were compelled to do a PCR test.
Passengers who have not been vaccinated must be subjected to a precautionary quarantine. Passengers must continue to adhere to the Kingdom’s cautious measures. The additional information was released following a decision by the Government Executive Committee.
Kuwait has eliminated the pre-arrival PCR test requirement and home quarantine for fully vaccinated individuals arriving in the nation as of February 20, 2022.
For non-vaccinated passengers, however, a negative PCR test is still required. Following their arrival, they must undergo a one-week home quarantine. They must do a PCR test of their arrival on the seventh day. If they tested negative, the quarantine period could be over soon.
Starting from 14th February 2022, There is no pre-departure PCR test required for fully vaccinated passengers to India for over 85 countries. The government will allow passengers to upload their certificate of completing vaccination.
Earlier this, India said that passengers from more than 80 countries will be allowed to travel to the country with just a negative PCR test or a certificate of completing the primary vaccination schedule. The list features passengers from USA, UK, Switzerland, Australia, Sweden, Spain and Sri Lanka.
Countries who dropped PCR test requirement :
Finland, Singapore, Brunei, Croatia, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Sweden, France, Cyprus, Denmark, Greece, Portugal, Norway, Switzerland, Thailand, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, and Vietnam have all eliminated the requirement for vaccinated travelers to take a PCR test before entering their entry points.
Countries planning to drop PCR Test :
By the end of February, the European Union (EU) and Canada intend to eliminate the obligation for tourists to take a pre-arrival PCR test.
