The time it takes to process a Saudi Arabian work visa is greatly reduced if you understand the requirements and process. From the age limit to the visa stamping, we’ve covered all you need to know about applying for a work visa.

Age Limit

  • Minimum age limit for a work visa in Saudi Arabia: 21 years.
  • Maximum age limit for a work visa in Saudi Arabia: 55 Years.
  • Minimum age limit for women: 27 years.

If an employer want to process a work visa for someone over the age of 55, he must first obtain special clearance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Work Visa Requirements

The majority of the requirements for obtaining a Saudi work visa are handled by the employer or the agent handling the application. If you bought an Azad visa, the agent will take care of all the procedures.

  • A valid passport with a six-month validity period is required.
  • Medical Examination for Saudi Visa by GAMCA
  • Attested Degree from Saudi Embassy and Saudi Culture Office.
  • Contract of Employment
  • The Certificate of Police Clearance.
  • Stamp from the Emigrants’ Protectorate.
  • Photo should be passport size.
  • Letter from the employer, officially authorized by the chamber of commerce
  • Visa application form.

Assignment of an Agent

Your employer will have an agent in your home country endorse the Saudi visa you acquired from the Ministry of Labor. Your company will provide you with the agent’s contact information. The length of time it takes to get a Saudi work visa is determined on how resourceful and skilled your agent is.

Visa processing time

If your agent is experienced and all of the necessary documents are in order, he will submit the application to the Saudi Embassy or Consulate right away. The stamping of a Saudi work visa on your passport typically takes 15 to 30 days.

The Validity

The Saudi Work Visa printed on your passport has a 90-day validity period, which means you must travel within that time frame.

Once you are in Saudi Arabia, the visa stamps on your passport will be valid for another 90 days from the day of your arrival. Within this time frame, your employer must process your Iqama.

The fee

Depending on where you live, the total amount an agency charges to process a work visa for Saudi Arabia ranges from SR 1,000 to SR 2,000.

Keep in mind, however, that under Saudi Labor Law Article 40 (1), the employer is responsible for the entire cost of visa processing.
