Saudi Arabia has begun levying fines for violations of the new Municipal Sanctions List.

Following the approval of the municipal sanctions list by the Council of Ministers, the execution of fines for violations of the list began today. Violations of business activity, roads, streets, construction, and gas stations are all included.

The sanctions include closing the shop or facility for no more than two weeks, with the punishment potentially being doubled if the violation is repeated. If the violation is a major municipal violation, the shop or facility’s municipal license will be revoked, and they will be barred from practicing the activity for a term of not more than two years.

The laws stipulated the types of infractions that might result in fines of up to one million riyals, as well as the removal of buildings constructed without a license at the expense of the violator and the seizure of an abandoned car in a public location for more than seven days.

Commercial Activities violations:

According to the Al-Ekhbariya channel, a punishment of 25,000 Saudi Riyals is imposed for failing to provide child care centers in commercial complexes, and a fine of 20,000 riyals is imposed when cameras are installed in women’s grooming shops.

If you provide hookah without a permit, you’ll be fined 10,000 riyals, and if you manufacture or create cosmetic or medicinal combinations for consumers, you’ll be fined 10,000 riyals.

When seals are broken and shops or companies reopen before the end of the usual closure, the municipality imposes a punishment of 10,000 riyals.

Road and Street violations :

When a digging permit is used for non-emergency digging, a fine of 50,000 riyals is imposed. A fine of 30,000 riyals was imposed for failing to backfill the excavation and restore the site to its original state.

A 30,000 riyal fine has been imposed for destroying concrete streets using excavating equipment. If the contractor’s name is not found on the protection plates, a fine of 5,000 riyals will be imposed.

Building Violations :

When the engineering office supervises works that are in violation of the building requirements, a fine of 50,000 riyals is imposed. If you participate in the construction of a building without a building permit, you will be fined 50,000 riyals.

A punishment of 50,000 Saudi riyals will be imposed if buildings that are falling apart are not demolished within two months of the owner being notified, and a fine of 10,000 will be imposed if sewage sites are left without coverings.

Gas Stations Violations :

When there are no price tags, a fine of 10,000 Saudi riyals is imposed. A 5,000 riyal charge has been imposed for the gas stations’ lack of cleanliness. A punishment of 2,500 riyals for poor toilet sanitation and a fine of 2,500 riyals for failing to consider the requirements of people with disabilities.
