The penalty for using single-use razors in barbershops repeatedly has been revealed by the Department of Municipal Affairs.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing announced that a breach of the repeated use of single-use razors might result in a monetary fine of up to 2000 riyals.

Municipal Affairs, via its official Twitter account, declared that repeated use of single-use razors will result in a fine of 2,000 Saudi riyals, effective January 15, 2022 (12/06/1443).

The Ministry further noted that there are follow-up measures, which include fixing the infraction, tripling the punishment in the event of a repeat offense, and closing the shop for a week.

The penalty for storing the beneficiary’s bag tools inside the barber shop is 500 riyals, according to the Ministry, and it will be doubled if the infraction is repeated. From the 15th of January 2022, this penalty will also apply.

The penalty for providing Hookah (Shisha) without a permit is revealed by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing:

Starting on the 15th of January 2022 (12/06/1443), the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing announced the implementation of a penalty for providing hookah without an authorization, with a fine of up to 10,000 Saudi riyals.

The ministry also revealed other procedures associated with the hefty financial consequence, such as ceasing to provide hookah until a permit is obtained, as well as the fact that if the infringement is repeated, the cost will be quadrupled, as well as the shop being closed for a week.
