Ministry of Interior reminds of a fine of 1,000 riyals for not wearing a Mask

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has reminded citizens and residents of the importance of wearing a mask and using distancing measures in all areas (indoor and outdoor), activities, and events, saying that failure to do so will result in a penalty.

The Ministry of Interior noted on Twitter that not wearing a medical or fabric mask, or anything else that covers the nose and mouth, is against the corona virus’s preventive and precautionary measures.

Those who break this responsibility face a penalty of 1,000 riyals, which will be quadrupled if the infringement is repeated or if the infraction has occurred previously, and it may reach up to 100,000 riyals.”

Earlier, the Ministry of the Interior declared that all procedures and measures are subject to constant examination by the Kingdom’s relevant health authorities, based on local and global epidemiological changes.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of everyone following all precautionary and preventative measures, as well as recognized protocols, to ensure their safety.

The Interior Ministry stated that legal procedures and sanctions for offenders will be implemented, emphasizing the necessity of all members of society completing their vaccine doses as soon as possible.
