The official spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Muhammad Al-Abd Al-Aali, ruled out the possibility of returning to quarantine and strict precautionary measures in the Kingdom, after the appearance of the “Omicron” mutant.
And he explained, during his meeting on the “Al-Rased” program on the “Al-Ikhbariya” channel, today (Wednesday), that in earlier stages, when mutations of the virus or waves appeared in the world, the fear was greater than the situation now, due to the availability of vaccines and the awareness of society after completing more Of the 22.3 million people immunized, some of them took the booster dose.
pointed out that precautionary measures should be followed because there is a percentage in the community that did not take the vaccine or took only one dose, indicating that there are age groups that did not take the vaccine, such as children because vaccines did not adopt that category, in addition to health-exempt groups that are not suitable for taking the vaccine.
He added that with each new mutation, this would be a path of media consumption and cause anxiety among the people, and it would increase if it was classified by the official authorities that this mutation has a name such as beta and alpha, or is classified as interesting or worrisome
He pointed out that the new strains are the genes of the virus in which mutations occur due to the spread and transmission between individuals, noting that the more transmitted, the greater the chance of mutations occurring, and then a mutation arises that may result in a change in the virus patterns.
