The Philippine authorities issued a decision to prevent sending their citizens to work in the Kingdom, after reports of Corona virus tests and quarantine were received.

The reports indicated, according to “Reuters”, that employers in Saudi Arabia bear the cost of the Filipino workers for virus detection tests, quarantine, and insurance upon their arrival in the Kingdom. Therefore, the decision was made to suspend.

The Minister of Labor in the Philippines, Silvestre Bello, confirmed that his ministry will issue an official statement about the resumption of sending workers to the Kingdom after this issue is clarified.

It is noteworthy that the Kingdom is the first destination for Filipino workers, as it embraces more than one million Filipino workers, according to government data issued in 2019.
