The Ministry of Interior: Amending the schedule for the classification of penalties for violations of the precautionary measures to include additional violations

Today, Tuesday, an official source at the Ministry of Interior revealed that the schedule for the classification of penalties for violations of the precautionary measures and the preventive measures taken by the relevant authorities to confront the emerging coronavirus pandemic has been amended.

The source emphasized that the sanctions aim at imposing social distancing and organizing human gatherings that are a direct cause of the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), in a manner that ensures preventing the virus from spreading, losing control and containing it.

The list of penalties included additional violations of what was previously announced, on 14 Ramadan 1441 AH, regarding the adoption of the regulation to limit gatherings that contribute to the outbreak and transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and what was announced on Shawwal 7, 1441 AH, according to the following:

A / Collections:

The person responsible for the assembly and the owner of the facility shall be punished as follows:

1 . (10,000) riyals, for the family gathering inside homes, rest houses, farms, and the like, beyond the numbers specified by the jurisdiction in a single or specific space, and they are not bound by a single residential relationship.

2 . (15,000) riyals for non-family gatherings inside homes, rest houses, farms, camps, chalets, or open areas for the people of one neighborhood, and the like, beyond the numbers specified in one or specific space.

3 . (40,000) Riyals for gatherings for social purposes such as funerals, parties and the like, exceeding the numbers specified by the competent authority.

4 . (50,000) riyals, that is, a grouping of workers in homes, buildings under construction, rest houses, farms, and the like, other than their homes, consisting of (5) people or more in one specific space, and they are not bound by one residential relationship.

B / Installations:

Violating the failure of private sector establishments to adhere to precautionary measures and preventive measures (protocols), (the establishment invites people and setting up gatherings, failure to verify the health status of individuals through the applications designated for this, and to allow the entry of confirmed cases of infection by the facilities, and the establishment does not adhere to the approved protocols by not Conducting the required checks for its workers, introducing those who are not committed to wearing a medical or cloth mask or what covers the nose and mouth, securing disinfectants and sterilizers in the places designated for them, measuring temperatures for employees and customers at the entrances to malls and commercial centers, disinfecting carts and shopping baskets after each use, disinfecting facilities and surfaces Close children’s playgrounds and places for measuring clothes and the like), in accordance with the cases stipulated in those procedures and preventive measures (protocols) by the competent authority.

1- The penalty for the establishment and the person responsible for it shall be according to its size and number of its employees, as follows:

The very small establishment and the number of its employees ranging from (1-5) shall be punished by (10,000) riyals, with the facility being closed for a period of 5 days.

small establishment and the number of its employees from (6 – 49) shall be punished by (20,000) riyals, with the establishment being closed for a period of 5 days.

– The average establishment and the number of its employees from (50 – 249) is punished by (50,000) riyals, with the establishment being closed for a period of 5 days.

– The large establishment and the number of its employees (250 or more) shall be punished with (100,000) riyals, with the establishment being closed for a period of 5 days.

2 – The penalty imposed on the previous time is doubled, upon repetition, and amounts to (200,000) riyals, and the closure does not exceed six months.

3 – The person in charge of the establishment branch shall be punished with a financial fine according to what is specified according to the size of his establishment, and the penalty imposed on the previous time is doubled upon repetition and reaches (100,000) riyals.

4 – Upon repetition for the second time, the person in charge of the establishment branch shall be referred to the Public Prosecution to consider his imprisonment in accordance with the followed legal procedures.

5- Restaurants, cafes and the like are excluded from the closing periods specified above, and according to the following: 24 hours for the first time, 48 hours for the second time, a week for the third time, two weeks for the fourth time, and a month for the fifth time or more.

C / Individuals ’violation: An individual is violated according to the following:

1 – (1000) riyals, and the penalty imposed in the previous time is doubled upon repetition and amounted to (100,000) riyals for anyone who violates the precautionary measures and preventive measures (protocols) by (not using a medical or cloth mask or covering the nose and mouth, not adhering to social distancing distances Refusal to measure the temperature upon entering the premises of the public or private sectors, failure to adhere to the approved procedures when the temperature rises above 38 degrees Celsius, refusal to provide evidence of health status through the applications designated for this (in the cases stipulated in those procedures and measures) Protocols) preventive.

2 – (1000) riyals for anyone coming to perform the prayers on the Haram without obtaining a permit.

3 – Any person who attends the gatherings referred to in Paragraph (1-4) of Clause (A) and Clause (B) is in contravention of (5,000) riyals.

Upon repetition, the penalty inflicted on the previous time is doubled and amounts to (100,000) riyals, in addition to referring him to the Public Prosecution upon repetition for the second time to consider his imprisonment in accordance with the followed statutory procedures.

4 – (10,000) riyals calling for any of the gatherings referred to in Paragraph (1-4) of Clause (A) and Clause (B) or causing them, and upon repetition, the penalty inflicted on the previous time is doubled and reaches (100,000) riyals, in addition To refer him to the Public Prosecution, upon repetition, for the second time, to consider his imprisonment in accordance with the followed statutory procedures.
