The Ministry of Health announced the expansion of administering the first dose to those who did not receive the vaccine, postponing all dates for the second dose, and rescheduling it later until a large segment of society is covered with the first dose.
They explained that all existing appointments for the second dose were postponed, starting from Sunday 29-8-1442 corresponding to April 11, 2021, and that the resumption of the second dose will be announced later.
The Ministry of Health noted that the announcement came due to the scarcity and stuttering of international supplies of vaccines due to the manufacturers facing challenges in fulfilling the contracted supply quantities, and in order to ensure that the largest number of the population is covered with the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, especially the high-risk groups, because of its impact on Reducing severe cases and protecting public health, and to maximize the benefit of the second dose of the research that the vaccine manufacturers are doing to include the mutated types of the virus in their vaccines.
The Ministry called on all citizens and residents to hurry to register to take the vaccine through the Sehaty app, especially the people most at risk of the repercussions of the virus.
