Today (Thursday), the President-General for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Abdul-Rahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, inaugurated the plan of the Presidency Agency for the Prophet’s Mosque Affairs for the upcoming Ramadan season.
The plan includes programs, targets, alternatives, emergencies and crisis management for the months of Shaban and Ramadan, and the implementation of preparations during the month of Ramadan and the days of Eid al-Fitr.
And it was decided that the Prophet’s Mosque would be closed half an hour after the Tarawih prayer, and it would open two hours before the dawn prayer, with the exception of the last ten days of Ramadan, where the mosque continues to open there around the clock.
And the worshipers are allowed to pray in the stones and the expansions of the Prophet’s Mosque, its roof and its squares, according to the plan of regeneration based on densities, and the application of precautionary measures during the month of Ramadan.
According to the approved plan, the maximum operating capacity of the mosque, under the precautionary measures, will be 45,000 worshipers, and the new western squares, which accommodate 15,000 worshipers, will be added to the operational capacity, bringing the total operating capacity during the month of Ramadan to 60,000 worshipers at one time.
