The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Public Health in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Hani Joukhadar said that the end of the Corona virus in the Kingdom or in the world is in the knowledge of the unseen, but we tighten the precautionary measures.

He said that there are many very developed countries that are unable to control the epidemic spread of the disease due to the lack of commitment to social distancing and the non-commitment of its citizens and residents to wear face masks.

– Saudi Arabia has greatly supported its citizens and residents on its land, and provided all means of prevention from Covid-19, whether it by purchasing masks everywhere, or by requiring facilities to number certain numbers inside closed places.

He stated that the Kingdom sought to maintain a very low epidemic curve, “so far we are still only in the first wave, which began in July and has dominated us,” thanks for sticking to the precautionary measures.

– Everyone called for maintaining social distancing and not being indoors, indicating that vaccination will reach everyone.

He added that, there is still a long time before the precautionary measures are lifted in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

– The application of the precautionary measures will extend to 6 to 8 months, before making a clear decision to lift them, expecting a breakthrough at the end of the third quarter of the year 2021.

– By the end of by the end of the 3rd quarter, the Kingdom will have reached the required community immunity, by exceeding the percentage of vaccine recipients of 70% of those who are on the land of Saudi Arabia.

He said that societal immunity can be accessed in 2 ways, first is through vaccination, and the second is infection, explaining that the last route is avoided by the Kingdom, and it seeks with all efforts to vaccinate its citizens and residents through 2 plans, first to import the required vaccine, and the second to vaccinate.
