Saudi Arabia opens its first drive-in cinema theater in the capital city Riyadh, which allows the movie lovers to enjoy a film, in necessary precautionary measures against the spread of Corona virus.

Drive-in movie theater in Riyadh can accommodate up to 150 cars, following all the social distancing measures reveals organizers. Viewers must wear face masks and go through the temperature check at the entries.  – During the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, Drive-in cinemas are in raise in some parts of the Middle East, especially Dubai and Beirut has similar venues since last year.

Riyadh’s Drive-in cinema planned for 3 movies daily between Arab and International films. It allows the viewers to enjoy the sound effects through the system linked to the vehicle’s speakers.  – An area is designated for food trucks to provide services to the visitors through electronic applications, without getting off the vehicle.

Riyadh Municipality said that it organizes the car cinema event in cooperation with the private sector, as part of its efforts to provide multiple entertainment options for the population, by allowing and supporting national institutions and companies specialized in the field of organizing specific events, as part of its serious endeavors to improve the quality of life in the city. It also comes in line with the targets of the municipal sector in the light of the Saudi vision 2030.

What is Drive-in Cinema theater?  –

Drive-in cinema theater is usually a large parking lot, where you can park your car and enjoy a movie on a large screen on specific timing. One can enjoy the film at his comfort of your own car, once you finish, you can drive-out.

Drive-in movie theaters are designed in a way that all cars get a good view of the screen. Big cars and SUVs are directed towards the parking lot’s rear area and small cars to watch the movie from upfront view.
