The Public Authority for Manpower in Kuwait imposed new fees ranging from one dinar to 10 dinars for 7 new services, based on a decision issued by the Minister of Trade and Industry and Minister of Economic Development Faisal Al-Medlej at the end of last year.  The decision included the collection of 10 dinars for the issuance or renewal of a work permit for citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council states, 10 dinars for the issuance or renewal of a work permit for the category of illegal residents, a dinar for a statement of the worker’s status and a certificate of employment for him, and 5 dinars for a signature approval certificate for the employer’s file.

It is reported that the authority collects a fee of 50 dinars for the issuance, transfer or renewal of a work permit for residents working in the private sector, without charging fees for the work permit.
