Customs clarifies again the controls on importing cigarettes by individuals

The General Authority of Customs has again clarified the controls on the import of cigarettes by individuals.  In its response to an inquiry by a person regarding the quantity of cigarettes that are allowed to be imported, customs indicated that people are allowed to import 125 cigarettes within three months from the date of import.

Regarding the fees and taxes that will be applied to that, she clarified that customs duties on the imported quantity are applied at a rate of 100% in addition to 100% selective tax, and then a value-added tax of 15% will be added to it.
