Today (Wednesday), the spokesman for the Health Insurance Council, Othman Al-Qasabi, explained the details of the groups excluded from obtaining health insurance that the employer is required to provide to his employees. He confirmed, during an intervention on the Al-Akhbariya channel, that the council’s system stipulates that an employer in the private sector is obligated to insure all his Saudi or non-Saudi employees and their family members who are covered by the system (wives, male children up to the age of 25 years, and unmarried girls who are not working. ).
He added that the cases excluded from the health insurance binding on the employer are those accompanying non-Saudis (parents, brothers, sisters), as the employee who sponsors them is obligated to insure them, according to the obligation of the cooperative health insurance system that everyone who sponsors a resident participates for him in health insurance.
