Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Muhammad Saleh bin Taher Benten, announced today (Monday) that the ministry, in the stages of the gradual return to Umrah and the visit, will rely on technical solutions that enable companies and institutions to market services globally and locally.
He revealed, during the first virtual forum to enrich the experience of the pilgrim, that the Saudi central reservation engine will be built, which will enable Muslims around the world to view all services available in the Kingdom, including accommodation facilities in Makkah and Madinah. He emphasized that many services will be marketed through the Saudi reservation engine, and they are related to transportation, accommodation, trips and other services.
For his part, the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Abdel Fattah Mashat, stated that the Hajj and Umrah system is not limited to the basic services provided to the pilgrims, as there is a huge content of services that can be provided by the private sector, such as support and logistical services, etc., which will be It has a great role in achieving the goals of the vision. He stressed that mergers and acquisitions in the Umrah sector will significantly reduce operational costs and contribute to increasing operating efficiency and diversification of services provided with the increase in assets and financial capabilities.
For his part, Director General of Business Development at the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha’at), Saad Al-Rabiah, confirmed that the Enterprise Authority, in cooperation with the Kafala program and the National Development Fund, has launched a product that guarantees financing establishments operating in the Hajj and Umrah sector, with the aim of stimulating financing agencies to finance the sector.
For his part, the Undersecretary for Umrah Affairs, Abdulaziz Wazzan, stressed the need to provide full transparency to the pilgrim when presenting and providing all services to make it easier for him to view before coming to the Kingdom, and to achieve the principle of competitiveness and evaluation of services, and therefore companies will seek to improve these services in the future.
