King Saud Medical City has warned of the spread of a type of fungus in hairdressing and beauty salons, and stressed the importance of being careful to prevent it.

The Medical City explained that this fungus is called “the Candida fungus”, and prevention is through maintaining the cleanliness and drying of the skin and nails, changing clothes after sweating or getting wet, and washing with soap.

And she stressed the need to choose beauty and barber salons that apply hygiene standards, and to be careful not to share personal tools in swimming pools and public bathrooms to avoid the growth of fungal yeast.
