“Islamic Affairs”: The decision to lift the ban on Friday and congregational prayers is subject to the high directives and opinion of senior scholars and the evaluation of health authorities

The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Da`wah and Guidance, Sheikh Abd al-Latif Al-Sheikh, said today (Saturday) that the decision to lift the temporary suspension of Friday and Friday prayers for all assumptions is subject to the directives of the High Commissioner, the opinion of the Senior Scholars Authority, and the evaluation of health authorities with jurisdiction.

The minister added that he hopes that this will be soon after the outbreak of the Corona epidemic has disappeared, stressing that the guardians and the authorities concerned with managing the pandemic crisis attach great importance to this.

Al-Sheikh stressed that the specialists work day and night to assess the situation and verify the precautionary measures, explaining that the decision to lift the suspension will only be after ensuring that adequate safeguards are available to protect people and their safety.

It should be noted that some media and social media platforms have reported inaccurate news about the lifting of the temporary suspension of Friday and congregational prayers in mosques.
